Update Dell N-Series Switch Firmware via USB Drive

Staying current with firmware or just loading up a firmware for testing. New firmware can be copied from a USB FAT32 partition to switch image locations. Copy the firmware, for example, N3000_N2000v6.3.0.6.stk to a newly formatted USB flash drive.

After you plug the USB drive into the switch, you can do a quick verification that the switch detects the inserted drive.

OMG, THANK YOU! As a network noob I’ve been trying to upgrade this switch for the last week trying to piece together code and the best way to do it.

This is so clearly written I was able to follow along and not question what parts needed to be included in the command line. This worked on my first attempt after reading this.

This single page was better than all the freaking 2000+ pages of documentation on Dell’s website.

    Thank you!
